Abstract | Bacterial biofilms on both biotic and abiotic surfaces represent a major medical problem causing antibiotic resistance and virulence in clinical settings. Bacteriophage therapy uses viruses that infect and kill bacteria either as single types of phages or a cocktail of phages. In this experiment, single phages, a cocktail of phages, and a synergy of phenolic grape seed extract in combination with phage was used to reduce biofilm formation. |
