The purpose of my experiment is to test which fruit would produce the most voltage and current in a circuit: a pear, a lemon, or a potato. The reason to doing this is to find an eco friendly substitute for a battery. Batteries contain harmful chemicals to the environment. When people do not place them in the correct disposal bin, batteries can be cast into land fills. From there, the toxic chemicals within the batteries leak into the soil. Next, rain could wash away the now toxic soil into fields, killing the crops, or into rivers. This has a very strong negative effect on the environment, and on us humans, too. If fruit could replace a battery as a portable source of electricity, then we wouldn't have to worry about harming the environment. Fruit batteries can go straight into the green bin. |
