Abstract This research and engineering study aims to address aircraft engine problems. Aircraft engines are complex and costly to maintain, with efficiency improvements leading to larger, more intricate designs. Furthermore, few engines can sustain supersonic or hypersonic speeds. The Advanced Reaction Engine System (ARES) solves this by integrating an ionization chamber, magnetohydrodynamic drive, and scramjet into one engine, limiting mechanical parts and enabling hypersonic speeds.
