Abstract Food allergy is a public health issue in Canada. Avoiding the allergenic food is required to prevent a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Peanut allergy in Canada affects about 2 in 100 children. The purpose of this project is to explore using CRISPR technology to modify peanut proteins in order to create hypoallergenic peanuts.
