Abstract This study applies social scientific theories from Penelope Eckert's "Linguistic Variation as Social Practice" and Bernard Spolsky's "Rethinking Language Policy" to explore how language policies and societal pressures shape belief systems about sacred language. It categorizes students into four groups based on the "Jocks and Burnouts Model," examining the impact of group authorities and contributors to mass psychology on beliefs in religion, school, and family domains.
