Abstract | This project tries to see how ‘slight’ genetic mutations can affect our daily lives, going from DNA nucleotides to amino acids and proteins (and how proteins become dysfunctional). It also attempts to compare properties of pathogenic, and non-pathogenic alleles of vital proteins. It looks at genetic mutations that lead to entire genetic diseases, neurofibromatosis type 1 being the main focus in this case. |
