Abstract Tires are very crucial in our society and are constantly rising in demand but contain many unsustainable ingredients. At the same time, the interest in natural fiber reinforced polymer composites is rapidly growing. This project aims to make tires more sustainable by examining different discarded biomass materials that can either provide mechanical performance improvements or that can substitute synthetic rubber as the base material.
