Abstract | The purpose of this project is to design a system that can more effectively protect people from ionizing radiation. The phylum Tardigrada, arguably the most extremotolerant living beings on earth, produce a protein coined Dsup that protects their DNA from ionizing radiation. This project provides potential reasoning for how it works in relation to its electrostatic interactions with DNA and applications for this mechanism. |
