| Abstract | Severe injuries from falling on ice and snow are becoming far too common, yet nothing has been done to fix it. My device, the SlipSafe Mobility Cane, is a mobility cane that uses infrared radiometry to detect ice on sidewalks and roads. Once detected, an audible and tactile notification would alert the user, which allows them to move to the side or to proceed with caution. |
