This project explores the construction and operation of an IEC (Inertial Electrostatic Confinement) Fusor for the purpose of neutron generation and activation for medicinal isotope production. The fusor, a compact nuclear fusion device, was designed and built to fuse two heavy-hydrogen (Deuterium) atoms together generating a measurable neutron flux. Primary goal was to utilize this flux to successfully activate a target material such as silver or indium as a proof of concept for medical isotope production.
