N15 : The Effect of Heat on Deformed Nitinol Wire

| Abstract | Nitinol isn’t only known for its pseudoelasticity but more importantly, its shape memory. This experiment was preformed to understand and determine how the alloy restores its shape when deformed. In this project 2 experiments will be performed using a nitinol paperclip and a nitinol spring wire, a stovetop and a bowl of hot water. Both experiments will be done to see that temperature does effect substances in different ways. |
