Abstract
My project is on bio plastics. More specifically, it is about making plastic out of compost. In my hypothesis I estimated that I would be able to make a plastic that is made of materials we use throughout every day. I also thought that I could find a way to make the plastic very strong and durable. My hypothesis was correct. I was able to make a very strong plastic using; potato peels, banana peels and orange peels. I did this by mixing together ΒΌ cup of water, 1 tsp of vinegar, 1 tsp of glycerine, 1 tbsp. of cornstarch, and 2 tbsp. of one of the three types of peels listed above. (See page 8) After a few days the plastic was set and very durable. By doing this experiment I realized how much we take for granted, and how important taking care of the world really is.
