The analysis behind the series of experiments was to find out which one the four famous brands of antacids, Phillips Milk of Magnesia, Gaviscon, Tums, and Zantac a form Tagamet, were the most effective. An antacid is a substance used to counteract or neutralize gastric acids and relieve heartburn. Heartburn is when the stomach contents, including the acid, push back into the lower esophagus sphincter causing pain in the lower chest area. Antacid potency is the act of finding the most effective chemical or medical antacid. If the stomach is not treated right, there are many chances of getting gastroesophaguel reflux disease, also known as GERD. GERD is diagnosed when the lining of the esophagus is damaged. GERD may lead to esophagus cancer. It has been stated by the Canadian cancer Society that out of 2,200 patients with esophagus cancer, 2,100 will die from it. Esophagus cancer may be rare, but it is very easy to get GERD. |
