Abstract This project aimed to build a laundry filter that could filter out microplastics as small as 5 microns. This would prevent microplastics from entering our environment and causing major harm to our ecosystems. Over 50% of microplastics come from synthetic textiles, and microplastics are released when these textiles are agitated in laundry machines. This makes it essential to prevent microplastics from exiting our laundry machines.
