| Abstract | I wanted to find a way to isolate elemental sodium. I did some research and found there are a number of ways to make our own elemental sodium by isolating it from a compound. By taking two common products (lye and a magnesium fire starter block) and introducing heat as a catalyst, a chemical reaction will happen that allows sodium to be isolated. |
