Abstract Diseased aortic and mitral heart valves are common among adults above 50 and if they are left uncorrected, the patient has a limited time to live (usually about six months). The healthcare team including surgeons and cardiologists would highly benefit from physical models of valves of each patient. The 3-D physical valves can help surgeons and cardiologists to examine the valves outside the chest, plan for the procedure that they want to do and even perform the procedure on the models before doing it on the body of the patient.
