| Abstract | Skateboarders can use the knowledge that a smoother grip tape (120 grit) will be more effective than coarser grip tapes. The more weight on the grip tape, the more traction it provides. Lighter skateboarders can improve their traction by adding more weight to themselves when skateboarding. Using a heavier shoe, or putting weights in their shoes are small changes that can improve the traction and the skater’s ability to perform tricks. |
