Abstract | As food and beverage enters the mouth they release vapors that travel through the nasal canal and arrive at the Olfactory Bulb where they are translated as flavor by the brain. This process gives the person the perception that the aroma they are smelling is the flavor that they are tasting. What if the sense of smell is taken away? Would you be able to tell the difference between common flavors? |
