Abstract By using the time course data of blood metabolites from three healthy human subjects who ingested three doses of glucose with rapid or slow ingestion to identify the regulatory mechanisms of blood metabolites by insulin, mathematical models to simulate the temporal patterns of blood metabolites were studied and the statistically best models were identified. By using the identified models, the difference in control patterns for blood metabolites such as amino acids and lipids will be elucidated.
