Abstract | The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between the presence of arabinose and gene expression (via Green Fluorescent Protein, or GFP) in non-pathogenic Escherichia coli bacteria. GFP is isolated from Aequorea victoria and appears green under ultraviolet light. GFP is also part of the pGLO plasmid introduced into the E.coli using recombinant DNA methods, specifically molecular cloning. |
