BASEF 2010 in a Nutshell

The Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair is an absolutely free science fair competition with incredible prizes open to all grade seven through twelve students from Hamilton, Halton Region and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties.
BASEF 2010 will be held on Wednesday, March 24th to Saturday, March 27th at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

What happens at BASEF?

Click to download 11x17 poster for printingThe science fair takes place over the course of four days, starting with project set up on Wednesday,March 24,2009, student activities and judging on Thursday,March 25,2010 and culminating in the award ceremony and public viewing on Saturday,March 27,2010. Top winners go on to compete at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, California, U.S.A. and the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Peterborough, Ontario,Canada.

Who can enter?

BASEF is open to students registered in grades 7 through 12 in public, separate and independent schools within the City of Hamilton, the Region of Halton, and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties, as well as to home-schooled students living in the same regions.

BASEF is a registered charity and relies entirely on volunteers and sponsors. We are always looking for volunteers and sponsors to help us make the science fair even better for students, parents and teachers.
