BASEF is a registered charity and is one hundred percent volunteer run, but we need almost $90,000 each year in order to operate the fair each year. BASEF relies entirely on the generosity of its corporate, educational, organizational and individual sponsors.

When you make a donation, all of the money is used for the benefit of the student participants. Most of your donation goes directly to the students in the form of participation awards and events, prize money, medals and trips advancing their projects and them to the national and international science fairs. The balance of the funds are used for the site and judging costs. For a more concise break down see our annual report.
