Activity Morning

Activity Morning 2018 information will be posted early in the new year.

Until then, the information below provides the details of Activity Morning at BASEF 2017 for reference purposes.


General Information

BASEF Activity Day 2017 will be held Friday, March 31st, 2017 in the Mohawk College Fennell Campus McIntyre Theatre (Main Auditorium) from 9:00 am to Noon.  There are approximately 1039 seats and the presentations are open both to BASEF participants and classes booked by teachers. 

Classes can arrive from 8:30 am onwards with classes accepted through the first presentation from 9:00 – 9:30 am to accommodate busing restrictions. Classes are strongly encouraged to arrive before 9 am so they do not miss any of the show!

Bused in students are to this year at the old HSR bus loop directly across from the McIntrye Theatre.  Exit will be through the north loop on Fennel Ave. The route will be signed and volunteers will be along the route.

BASEF Students

All students participating with a project at BASEF are guaranteed a seat at Activity Day.


This event is open to Grade 7-8 classes. Board representatives will be provided an information packages at the BASEF committee meeting.  Email: with information on your school information, contact person, number of students, expected arrival time, and number of buses (if using bus transportation).

Important Information

  1. There will be no food or drink the auditorium.
  2. Classes attending Activity Sessions must be accompanied by a teacher. This should be treated as a school trip. (There will also be room for additional volunteer help…just mention the numbers in the registration email.)
  3. Classes will not be allowed into the gym to see the BASEF projects. (Public viewing of projects will be Saturday Morning 9 am to Noon. All are encouraged and welcome to come at this time.)
  4. Busing will be the responsibility of individual schools. 
  5. Bus dropoff will be at the Main Entrance.  There will be not bus parking allowed on campus this year.  Bus pickup will be at H-Wing.  Drop off and pickuop locations must be abided by. A package of information has been provided to the teachers attending.
  6. The presentation will be one continuous three hour session – please plan accordingly.
  7. All routes are wheelchair accessible.
  8. Please enter and exit the threatre quietly as classes and testing will be going on.  Make every effort to keep your classes lined to one side of the hallway to avoid congestion.
  9. Mohawk Security has full authority on campus.
