BASEF 2010 Results

Cash, prizes and scholarships worth more than $140,000 were awarded to student participants at BASEF 2010 on March 27th at McMaster University.

Especial congratulations to Ian Coomes, winner of the ArcelorMittal Dofasco Best-in-Fair award, and to the twenty students who won all-expense-paid trips to compete at either the Canada Wide Science Fair in Peterborough or the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in San Jose, California.

The Bay Area Science and Engineering Fair is an absolutely free science fair competition with incredible prizes open to all grade seven through twelve students from Hamilton, Halton Region and Haldimand, Norfolk and Brant Counties.

BASEF 2010 was held from Wednesday, March 24th to Saturday, March 27th at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

BASEF 2011 will be held March 23rd to 26th at Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology in Hamilton, Ontario.

About BASEF

For 50 years, the Bay Area Science & Engineering Fair has provided a forum for students in the Hamilton/Halton area to develop their scientific skills and prepare for national and international competition.

BASEF - one of the oldest and largest science fairs in Canada - is a registered charity and relies entirely on volunteers and sponsors.
